The 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' House Isn't Even in Bel-Air

When it came to sourcing furnishings for the Bel-Air dwelling, set decorator Kristin Peterson says that art played a major role. As such, she tells us that "our directive was to make art a character in the show and to be a platform to showcase some of the best Black artists working today." The Fresh Prince house is still up on Airbnb, but it doesn’t seem like you can book a stay anymore. Only a few dates were available throughout the month of October, and there’s no news on whether or not the property will be open to the public anytime soon.

Celebrity guest stars

To gain popularity between the two shows, Will Smith appeared in the Blossom episode "I'm with the Band" as himself under his rap stage name, The Fresh Prince. That same season, Karyn Parsons appeared in the Blossom episode "Wake Up Little Suzy" as Hilary Banks. Parsons also appeared in the Patti LaBelle sitcom Out All Night as Hilary.

Perks of the stay include throwback music on classic turntables — just like DJ Jazzy Jeff's — a fully stocked-closet and a virtual welcome from DJ Jazzy Jeff himself. For those of you who are as obsessed with the show as I am, you pretty much already know any and everything about the main cast. But, let’s break it down for a moment for those readers who don’t and in the meantime, I’ll provide you with a few interesting factoids along the way. She played the original Aunt Viv, who was fired after three seasons on the show and replaced with Daphne Reid.

Here's Where The House From Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Is Located

The iconic LA mansion will be available for rent on Airbnb starting Sept. 29. LA County residents who live in the same household will be able to rent the property for one night for just $30, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the hit 90s show. The streamer has described the special as "a funny and heartfelt night full of music, dancing, and special surprise guests, in honor of the series that ran for six seasons and 148 episodes." For starters, the luxe mansion featured in Bel-Air is actually not located there in real life; instead, it's on the east side of Los Angeles, in the Bradbury Estates neighborhood, reveals Kaplan. During the fall 1991–1992 season, NBC gained two hit television shows to anchor their Monday night lineup (Blossom aired immediately after The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air).

Inside the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Mansion

A home visible from the first minutes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, when Will Smith, a boy from the poor neighborhoods of Philadelphia, comes knocking on the door of his aunt and uncle. Getting a coveted stay here though might be harder than making it big in Hollywood. Only five one-night stays are available, in early October, and they’re only open to Los Angeles County residents. Guests will get an entire wing of the mansion to enjoy, including an outdoor lounge, kitchen, dining room and Will’s bedroom from the show, which has a basketball hoop, king-size bed and turntables to spin some records just like DJ Jazzy Jeff. The listing celebrates the 30th anniversary of the show, which debuted on NBC in 1990 and is now getting a less lighthearted reboot treatment as a drama series. We’re making it happen with the squad at @airbnb #FreshPrince30th,” Smith posted on Instagram.

The home itself, constructed about 70 years ago, is actually located in the Brentwood part of Los Angeles instead of the Bel-Air area. You can now watch all 148 episodes of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” on HBO Max, which is also hosting a 30th anniversary cast reunion that started streaming on November 19. Though maybe if the iconic show would have been named in its honor (instead of promoting Bel-Air) more people would be familiar with the name. Famous Brentwood residents include Gwyneth Paltrow, Harrison Ford, and Travis Scott. Several sources place the house in the posh Los Angeles neighborhood of Brentwood, a 15-minute drive from Bel-Air where the Banks family supposedly lived (the exact address has been edited out of privacy concerns for the home’s current residents). Three decades ago, Will Smith settled into his new kingdom and won our hearts as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

The lucky parties will live in a wing of the mansion for one night of royal treatment. The reunion special will launch exclusively on HBO Max around Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, a dramatic reboot of the show has landed a two-season order at Peacock, NBCUniversal's new streaming service. For fans outside of the Los Angeles area, DJ Jazzy Jeff will also offer an Airbnb Online Experience in which he will teach guests some tips and tricks for DJ’ing.

Who lives in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air house?

There are other sweet perks as well, like Air Jordans, access to Will's closet, turntables, and free meals "served on silver platters." And from the photos in the listing, the mansion looks pretty fresh indeed. You'll even be virtually welcomed by DJ Jazzy Jeff and a socially distanced mansion concierge. "The stays will take place for one night each in Will's wing of the decked-out mansion with access to Will's posh bedroom and bathroom, a poolside lounge area and an elegant dining room," Airbnb says. Back in early 2020, Will Smith partnered with Airbnb to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the show. For a limited time, die-hard fans could rent a wing of the house that had been decked out with all the Fresh Prince, 90’s nostalgia you could imagine.

ABC News Meteorologist Rob Marciano Exits

The rental will be compliant with CDC rules and follow the enhanced cleaning protocol made by Airbnb as well. Caitlin O'Kane is a New York City journalist who works on the CBS News social media team as a senior manager of content and production. She writes about a variety of topics and produces "The Uplift," CBS News' streaming show that focuses on good news. The inside of the home features "bold graffiti art" and "posh interiors," according to Airbnb. So, it’s a little tricky to nail down, but the Brentwood home is believed to now be occupied by a Persian businessman and his wife. Will announced the opportunity with a full-on Fresh Prince of Bal Air house tour that can still be seen on his YouTube channel.

Many of you may be surprised to know that the show, which was produced by Quincy Jones (father of the insanely adorable Rashida Jones), was actually based on the life of music producer Benny Medina. Medina decided to pitch the idea with his real estate buddy to Mr. Jones who had just signed a TV contract with Time-Warner and the rest, folks, is history. If you’re interested in learning more about this iconic show, then you’re in luck, because we’re here to answer all of your top questions about one of TV’s most iconic sitcoms. One key factor that separates Bel-Air from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is that the former is a single-camera show with a more realistic depiction of life, while the latter was a three-camera show that was known for being comedic. This, in turn, influenced the style of the homes that play starring roles in the respective series.

The "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" mansion is available on the vacation rental site for a limited time only. According to Realtor.com, the property was last sold for $732,000 back in 1978, however, its value literally skyrocketed with the advent of the show. Now, the price of the average home in this area is already pretty steep (we’re talking like around $2.99 million), but this particular home’s estimate still manages to be 192.7% greater than the median listing price in the Brentwood area.

"OOOO!! Y’all think we should rent out the @freshprince house?? We’re making it happen with the squad at @airbnb!! #FreshPrince30th" the actor captioned the photo of him and Jazzy Jeff outside the mansion (which is ironically not in Bel Air, but in nearby Brentwood). The series's director, co-writer, and executive producer, Morgan Cooper, provided a list of Black artists from cities like Philadelphia and Kansas City; co-showrunner and executive producer Rasheed Newson, who is an art collector, also added names to this list. Following Fresh Prince's conclusion, Ribeiro joined the principal cast of In the House from its third season as Dr. Maxwell Stanton. In the Season 4 episode "My Pest Friend's Wedding", Avery and Daphne Maxwell Reid (the second Vivian Banks) guest starred as Stanton's parents.

Will Smith has teamed up with Airbnb to offer five one-night stays at the Brentwood, California, mansion that served as the iconic exterior of Uncle Phil and Aunt Vivian's home for all six seasons of the show. The Fresh Prince himself is adding Airbnb host to his repertoire as he invites guests to stay a night in his TV kingdom—or rather a private wing in the Banks mansion. PDT, five one night stays will be made available on Airbnb for groups of up to two people.

But don’t worry, as the listing shows, the estate’s actual interiors are nothing to bag on. The limited-time Fresh Prince rental offered access to a specific wing of the house consisting of Will’s bedroom (all decked out in ’90s paraphernalia, basketball hoop included too), a full bathroom, the pool area, an outdoor lounge, and the dining room. Said to have a total of 10 bedrooms and 4 and a half bathrooms, the rooms fans are most familiar with are the Banks’ kitchen, living room, and Will’s bedroom — which were sadly all filming sets and not a part of a real-life house.

“Fresh Prince” is now streaming on HBO Max, and I spent the last few days watching dozens of episodes from the six seasons it ran. I was surprised by how well the show has held up after all these years, and how funny it still is. Earlier in 2020, Will Smith partnered with Airbnb to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the show by allowing people to spend a night in the original Fresh Prince of Bel-Air house. If you feel cheated in the slightest, know that there aren’t many differences between Bel-Air and Brentwood; both Los Angeles neighborhoods are home to the ultra-wealthy and feature huge mansions that set the tone for high-end real estate in the city. Discover the history of the restaurant in Breaking Bad, the castle in Game of Thrones, the house in Stranger Things and many other mythical places in a new book. The listing shows luxurious trappings expected of such an iconic home, along with details from the beloved show, like a framed picture of Will Smith's character on the show.

That private residence also boasts four bathrooms and nearly 4,000 square feet for living space. Additional features include a sizable walk-in closet linked with the property's main suite, numerous fireplaces, a three-car garage, a swimming pool, a spa and a gazebo. As Architectural Digest reported, the beloved property has also been rented out to guests as an Airbnb. Guests who choose to stay in the home can not only enjoy residing there for a time, but they will also receive a greeting from DJ Jazzy Jeff (who starred in the sitcom) and enjoy meals served on literal silver platters.

Fresh Prince of Bel Air House: Photos of the Home Seen in the Show

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air welcomedabout forty celebrities during its six seasons during its six seasons, such as Richard Roundtree, Quincy Jones, Naomi Campbell B.B. King and Tom Jones. Smith, who the show made a household name, has reportedly coordinated a dramatic reboot of the show based on a speculative trailer that went viral in 2019. LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Turns out yur life does not have to be "flipped, turned upside-down" to live like the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air." Realtors across La Jolla came together to figure out how much your favorite onscreen homes would cost to purchase.

Believe it or not, America’s favorite home was actually not located in Bel Air at all, but in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles. However, the truth of the matter is that when it comes to demographics, these two neighborhoods are pretty similar and definitely the upper-crust of the upper-crust if you know what I mean. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air hit the airwaves back in 1990, making an immense cultural impact and forever solidifying actor/rapper Will Smith into Hollywood history. It also solidified something else… The Fresh Prince of Bel Air house will forever be a national treasure.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion on HBO Max

More cool perks for fans staying at the house included one pair of Air Jordans for each guest and access to Will’s wardrobe on the show (where one could easily spot some iconic outfits, like the shirt Will Smith wore in the intro song of the show). Almost 25 years after we said goodbye to Will, Jazzy Jeff, Carlton, Hilary, Aunt Viv, Uncle Phil, and Geoffrey the witty butler, HBO Max pleasantly surprised us with a heartwarming reunion episode that brought back a big part of the cast, in a highly familiar setting. In the United Kingdom, all seasons became available on BBC iPlayer from 1 January 2021, and also currently airs on Sky Comedy and Sky Showcase. In the House and Fresh Prince were both executive-produced by Winifred Hervey, David Salzman and Quincy Jones.

Fans can request to book the $100 session here, with the actual event taking place Oct. 1. The Airbnb experience is decorated with graffiti art and family portraits, and Philly cheesesteak will be served. Will Smith announced on Instagram Sunday that the house from the “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” would be made available for rent on Airbnb.

According to Gary Gold, executive vice president of Hilton and Hyland brokerage in Beverly Hills, the producers picked the location because it communicated that “upper crust, conservative, WASP-y” vibe the show was looking to create with the Banks family. Hard to believe it’s been 30 years since the popular sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” first premiered on NBC with a young Will Smith, who was then known more as a rapper than as an actor. Though reality show fans might be more interested in another Californian villa — the mansion from The Bachelor, which is also listed on Airbnb. However, the mansion used for exterior shots of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air house is as real as can be (though admittedly not located in Bel-Air at all). While playing street basketball, Will accidentally hits a group of gang members with the ball, causing a confrontation that frightens his mother, who sends him to live with his wealthy aunt and uncle in the opulent neighborhood of Bel Air, Los Angeles. Maybe Uncle Phil is covering the rest of the expenses for the lucky guest who reserves one of the limited spots. On Thursday, Smith shared photos from the sitcom's upcoming HBO Max reunion, which began filming that day. And in a pleasant surprise, Smith revealed that he sat down with Janet Hubert, the actress who originated the role of Will's Aunt Vivian on the show, for the first time in 27 years.

The home's exterior played a significant part in the show's projection of a specific kind of 1990s, Black Bel-Air lifestyle. As design lovers, we've all been guilty of paying attention to the interiors of an onscreen home more than the actual plot of the movie or television show. Who can blame us for daydreaming about living in the far-flung cottages of romantic comedies or the palatial digs of period pieces? As breathtaking as the homes are, you can't help but question how much the seaside homes in Nancy Meyer's films or the lavish city apartments of Sex and the City cost in real life.

Years later, he brings the house where his throne once stood back into the spotlight — just in time for a heartwarming reunion. Warner Home Video has released the complete series, seasons 1 to 6, on DVD in Region 1.[54] Seasons 1 to 4 have been released in Regions 2 and 4. Seasons 5 to 6 have been released in Region 2 in Germany, and in the complete series boxset in the United Kingdom. Currently, reruns of the series are still aired around the world on ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks' MTV2 and VH1, having previously been aired on its MTV, Nick at Nite, TeenNick, and Centric channels. Other past carriers include WGN America, TBS, TNT, Walt Disney Television's Disney XD, ABC Family and ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks' BET and Paramount Network. We don’t think Geoffrey, the butler, will be preparing it for you, though.

You don’t have to be from Philadelphia or have a rich uncle in California for a chance to stay in this fine estate. The famed house from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" is located at 251 N. The white, colonial structure sits in a desirable part of the southern California community.

It should come as no surprise that the exquisite Bel-Air mansion from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air came in at the top of their list at an estimated average price of $9 million. Meanwhile, the quintessentially English cottage owned by Kate Winslet's character in The Holiday came in at a staggering $2.45 million. While those whooping prices may be out of budget for most folks, Bella Swan's Forks, Washington home from Twilight came in just under the national average at $305,000. The actor and DJ will make a virtual appearance to teach guests how to scratch a turntable like a hip-hop legend.

Fans from the Los Angeles area can book one-night stays at the house for only $30 a night, and get access to the luxurious wing occupied by Will Smith's character on the show. According to the listing, written from Will's perspective, guests will enjoy "my bedroom (great for naps), a full bathroom (great for spitting bars in the shower), pool area (great for dips), an outdoor lounge, and the dining room (great for eating obviously)." Bookings start September 29 and will be for the dates of October 2, 5, 8, 11, and 14; an important caveat is that in keeping with safety regulations, only L.A. County residents are allowed to book stays at the mansion, and multiple guests will have to prove that they currently live in the same household. Additionally, Airbnb will be making a donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia to help celebrate the show’s momentous anniversary. Extra perks include a pair of Air Jordan sneakers for each guest, a chance to rummage through a closet filled with stylish outfits, and turntables to channel your inner DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Joseph Marcell, Geoffrey Butler on Fresh Prince, appeared as an officiating minister in the same episode. The house was also visited by Prince Harry of England during an episode of the Late Late show with James Corden. Meghan Markle’s husband having gone to ring the doorbell of the mansion like Will Smith in his time, playing in a way the remake of the introduction of the series, to the great surprise of the current owners of the place. Guests will have access to a bedroom, bathroom, poolside lounge area and dining room.

14 badly designed logos and how to avoid their mistakes

bad logo design

See, your logo design should have some meaning that connects it with the brand as well as the consumer just like Beats, Baskin Robbins, and Adidas that form some meaning. And while you do that, don’t go to the same designer who created them in the first place because he’ll repeat the same mistake and waste your money, energy, and time. Look at these two brands who tried to say something via their logos but the design came out very differently.

The Top 10 Bad Logos

One of the most notable aspects of the criticism surrounding this logo change was removing the beloved orange and straw image. This image had been synonymous with Tropicana's fresh and natural brand identity for years. Its absence left many consumers puzzled, as if a part of the brand's essence had been discarded.

Bad Logos Ever Created: Worst Logo Designs Of All Time

bad logo design

Even though KFC has changed its logo four times in the past forty years, with each re-design it becomes more and more about Colonel Sanders. A basketball brand, Champion’s company logo simply doesn’t allude to the basketball culture with its script and navy blue and red palette. Not only is the graphic design similar, the logo typography is also alike. While the signature color choice aims to increase memorability and give the logo a modern feel, it just looks old. The Arby’s original logo isn’t only one of the most uninventive monogram logos out there, but it suffers from poor graphic design.

What Makes a Bad Logo: Incongruent and irrelevant graphics

Furthermore, the emotional resonance that the original logo had cultivated over the years was conspicuously absent from the new design. The iconic orange with a straw had the power to evoke feelings of freshness, nostalgia, and the simple pleasure of sipping a glass of Tropicana orange juice. In contrast, the new logo failed to capture the same emotional depth. It left consumers disconnected and searching for the familiar warmth and comfort that the old logo had provided. Below, we’ll walk through two brands that used PickFu to test their company logo.

Underline brand mission & values

When Hillary Clinton revealed her new campaign logo in 2015, people criticized its design. Many people said that its big red arrow symbolized a shift to the right. Many people rejected the simple design because it looked amateurish. Although Colonel Harland Sanders died in 1980, he still continues to be an important part of this restaurant’s branding and advertising strategy.

A Style

Or, if you want to show that you’re an edgy company that’s not afraid to hustle for results, you might do better showing off a mean (but cute) mascot, like Adbadger does. Some organizations have launched without realizing that their logo was a branding faux pas. Some went with choices that didn’t meet audience expectations. And some have created a logo that looked great but was too restrictive when introducing new assets, which was the case with the old Discord pictogram. We're a creative branding agency dedicated to helping businesses like yours build and grow strong, memorable brands. The heart of the controversy lies in the fact that the logo disregards the environmental impact of the paint industry.

For example, if you’re a B2B business, your best bet would be to choose a design that appeals to professionals, like the one used by Tresorit. Much more detrimental to your organization’s image, it will send the message that your brand is sloppy or unprofessional. Now, large corporations with significant market shares may allow themselves to risk not being liked by consumers.

Failure to Reflect Brand Identity

The fire icon isn’t terrible but I simply can’t make a connection between sushi and open-fire grilling. Design some part of the logo to stand out above all the others. Great logos follow a give-and-take methodology where some elements are flashy while others are not pushing for more attention. You have to seriously consider how your logo will be received by the people its intended for. This is even more important when those people are diehard Welsh football fans.

Some tips on how to recognize and avoid logo design mistakes

Consider your brand's personality and the message you want to convey when selecting colours. Critics argue that the logo, with its globe drenched in paint, unwittingly reinforces the perception that the company is indifferent to environmental issues. It glorifies the idea of covering the planet in a thick coat of paint, which clashes with the growing global awareness of the need for eco-friendly, sustainable practices in every industry. Moreover, the overall aesthetic of the Kraft Foods logo leans towards a carnival-like atmosphere. A carnival-like appearance can inadvertently send mixed signals about the company's professionalism and the quality of its products.

Hilariously, several people took to Twitter to offer their own takes on the logo, and homemade creations of the SpaceX logo too. The design features an enormous single eye hovering over a huge mouth that blends into what looks like a cheap carving knife. Every decision just seems wrong, from the colours to the lack of symmetry and different thicknesses, which all give the design an even more monstrous lopsided feel. Surely someone would only go to this clinic if they want to come out looking like Frankenstein's monster. At first glance, this logo doesn’t look bad – but rotate it 90° clockwise, and you’ll see what all the fuss is about.

While, again, the font choice is sleek and invokes clarity, the logo is pretty underwhelming. So much so, in fact, that John Legere, T-Mobile’s CEO, publicly mocked the redesign. While the image is supposed to represent a cowboy hat, it’s somewhat phallic. This sends the wrong message about Arby’s’ brand identity as a family restaurant. Bad logos don’t stand out because they fail to create an emotional connection with customers.

Don’t make the mistake of choosing to work with someone you’re not likely to be compatible with. In truth, the aim of changing the logo was to make it youthful and in line with current design trends. This is something that many brands have been doing in 2021, with Volvo being another excellent example.

This Endrun logo was designed by Paul Rand who is a legendary logo designers. But we don’t blame him, even legends make mistakes sometimes. Uber just really took a very wrong turn in terms of logo design. The Shell logo isn’t only uninspiring, the color choice is reminiscent of McDonald’s.

Originality is crucial in forging a unique brand identity and fostering authenticity, helping the logo distinguish itself in a crowded marketplace. However, within the plethora of exceptional logos, there exists a spectrum where some fail to capture the essence or fail to connect with the audience, potentially impacting a brand adversely. It’s crucial to recognize the characteristics that differentiate a good logo from a bad one.

The logo should have a clear message and communicate the brand’s essence without cluttering the design. Also, a straightforward style makes it easier to duplicate the logo on various media, including business cards, websites, and billboards. “This logo suggests that something ‘down there’ is on fire, uh lĂ  lĂ ! Of course, it doesn’t hold the sense of safety one would expect. Soon, AI will be a prominent part of the logo design process, but it will be most beneficial as a tool. Like all tools, those who spend the time to learn its capabilities and how to harness is peculiarities will create the most interesting work.

Besides thousands of startups and medium-size businesses, FullStop has worked with likes of Microsoft & L’OrĂ©al. Then, there’s this logo design from the Office of Government Commerce that became a victim of poor kerning skills. And I don’t even want to go into the details of what it looks like if you rotate it.

Unveiling the Disney Wish Cruise Ship A Complete Guide to a Magical Cruise

disney cruise the wish

While those are certainly fun touches to the experience, it won’t ruin the experience if you don’t do this for your family. I would have loved to spend more time in this space as it was my favorite on the ship. The Cove Bar had a great cocktail menu and a selection of wine and beer.

What It’s Like to Live on a Cruise Ship for 6 Months

Another great way to see characters is in group live performances, which is a blast for little kiddos. We were able to attend the Tree Lighting, a Santa Storytime, as well as the Pirate Party and got to see many of the characters perform together. At ages 3 and 5, my boys love all things Disney but are both on the smaller side, so they would be shorter than many of the ride height requirements at Disney World or Disneyland. The Disney Wish Cruise gave them a mini taste of the Disney experience, but in an environment they could enjoy and manage. On January 22, 2019, Port Canaveral officials gathered to discuss the new liners' docking at DCL's exclusive Cruise Terminal 8. The facility was improved and upgraded in order to accommodate/berth the 3 new boats simultaneously.

We selected the Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, and they truly thought of everything when they designed the space. Outfitted with a crazy comfortable Queen bed (I am very picky about my bed) with super soft Frette linens and comfortable pillows as well as convertible kids bunk beds, we really had space for everyone. The Disney Wish also offers inside staterooms, oceanview rooms without a verandah, and concierge-level, all Disney-themed, of course.

Disney executives declined to address larger issues going on in the cruise industry, such as when the Centers for Disease Control will allow cruise ships to sail out of U.S. ports again. The Disney Cruise Line held a grand reveal Thursday morning to lay out more details on the Disney Wish, the company’s fifth cruise ship, which will set out from Port Canaveral for the Bahamas starting June 9, 2022. At the released on March 9, 2018, the new ship's exterior rendering was shown the company's traditional black-white-red hull color scheme.

The Oceaneer Club is designed for children ages 3 to 12 and features interactive games, toys, and theming inspired by beloved Disney characters. Just like many modern cruise ships, Disney Wish has a high proportion of Verandah and Oceanview staterooms.

All-new on-ship attractions

The Slide-a-Saurus Rex waterslide (water-coaster at sea) is located atop the ship and features a 765 ft (233 m) long 4-decks high transparent tube. The spinning tube reaches an incredible height of 150 ft (46 m) above sea level (there's a 42-inch / 107 cm height requirement). "Toy Story Splash Zone" is the kids' aquapark where the waterslide ends. The adults-only "Quiet Cove" pool area is a great place to hide from all the little angels and devils around the ship. The unique accommodation is sized 1965 ft2 (183 m2), with max capacity 8 passengers, and interior design themed on Walt Disney's 3D animation film "Moana" (2016). The Wish Tower Suite features 2x master bedrooms, 4x full bathrooms, half-bath (powder room), library (converting to a bedroom), kids' room (with built-in bunkbeds).

One of the most exciting "firsts" on board the Disney Wish is the first-ever Disney attraction at sea. AquaMouse is a family water attraction that brings Mickey shorts to life, and it will include show scenes, lighting and special effects, and more throughout its 760 feet of tubes perched above the upper decks. The adults-only spaces on Disney Wish are not clustered together in one area like they are on Disney's other ships. Instead, they are sprinkled throughout, with several located right next door to a kids club.

Packing a costume for your kids is 100 percent a MUST DO as the whole ship is dressed up in their Captain Hook finery. My kids are early risers, so they woke up just as we arrived at Castaway Cay, and we were able to eat our room service breakfast and drink coffee as we watched the boat dock from our private verandah. After breakfast, we decided to get ready and head out early to explore the island, which is much larger than what I had expected. It has multiple beaches, including an adults-only beach, an on-island kids club area, multiple restaurants, bars, stores, and several in-water attractions, including a play structure and two water slides. While we didn’t spend a ton of time in our room resting, I was most surprised by this space as it was so much lovelier and more comfortable than I had expected for a family of four.

Cruises

Other family favorite features of the room were the Disney+ and unlimited Disney movies and shows on the TV, a large verandah with killer views, and a split bathroom set up (one space with toilet/sink and one with shower/tub and sink). The bathrooms were as nice as the room and spacious, considering you are on a boat. The water pressure was excellent in the shower, and the bathrooms were outfitted with Elemis bath products.

From the moment guests walk into the castle-like Great Hall, they're entering the universe of beloved Disney stories and the world of the ports they're sailing to. Travel + Leisure talked to Laura Cabo, portfolio creative executive for Walt Disney Imagineering, about the new ship's creation and design. Cabo said the cruise is a uniquely intimate experience because once guests board, they never have to leave the Disney magic — "guests get to live and dine and play with our characters." A Disney Cruise Line embarkation greeting was already extremely special, but the company has dialed up the magic for kids sailing on Disney Wish.

If you buy something through our links, we may earn an affiliate commission, at no cost to you. The new ship will run on liquefied natural gas, a more environmentally friendly system. Near the end of the naming ceremony, three godchildren/Make-A-Wish children recited the traditional ship blessing. In June 2022 DCL announced that instead of a godmother/godfather/godparents the Wish ship will have godchildren - from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Disney Wish is based out of Port Canaveral and sails a mix of three- and four-night sailings to the Bahamas. If you want more time on the ship, you can book back-to-back cruises to create your own seven-night journey. Kids club highlights include the Oceaneer Club's Marvel Super Hero Academy, where kids can design (and virtually fly in) their own super suit.

For little tykes eager to make a splash, Woody, Jessie, and friends present a perfect place. Much like the fun Finding Nemo splash zones onboard the Disney Wish and Fantasy, young kids not quite ready for the pool can splash in fountains, whisk down slides, and safely bounce around a bit on the soft padded areas while cooling off. We offer a full list of every pool on board further down the page in our “deck-by-deck” section.

Like all Disney Cruise Ships, the Disney Wish offers something called rotational dining during the nightly dinner service — a Disney Cruise Line innovation. Rotational dining doesn’t mean you’re sitting in a revolving restaurant. Diners are pre-scheduled to visit a different restaurant on each night of the cruise on a schedule called a dining rotation.

It’s sort-of a Chef’s Table menu where the team chooses what to give you. And if you want to add on the champagne selection, it’s $140 per person. Since it is a buffet, the menu will vary, but you can expect to find standards such as bacon, eggs, waffles and omelets at breakfast, and burgers, fries, chicken tenders, and salads at lunch. The Everymom’s product and travel selections are curated by the editorial team.

Disney Eats: Disney Receives First MICHELIN Star for Victoria & Alberts

disney cruise the wish

There’s no shortage of pools and water splash zones onboard; ten, to be exact! Deck 11 is the home to most, though you’ll also find smaller ones scattered about elsewhere. Disney has positioned the AquaMouse as its first ever “attraction at sea,” but it’s important to remember that the logistics of being onboard a cruise ship mean you shouldn’t expect a Pirates of the Caribbean caliber attraction. For grown-ups wanting to get their Star Wars fix, Hyperspace Lounge is a great spot.

Verandah Staterooms on the Disney Wish

Before you even leave home for your Disney cruise, you'll learn a bit about how your phone will transform into a "spyglass" from Captain Minnie herself. Then, once you are on your cruise, you'll be able to join an interactive adventure to help recover pieces of a fractured wishing star that have landed in the worlds of Moana, Peter Pan, Princess Tiana and Nemo. Disney Wish has a full roster of new Broadway-style shows, along with several other new entertainment offerings. If your kids have always wanted to celebrate summer via a picnic with Olaf in Arendelle's Castle, they are in luck on the Wish. Set in an indoor space with a backdrop of a meadow of flowers, Olaf's Royal Picnic features Olaf, Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and a song-filled picnic complete with a ton of goodies for the kids to keep. The food was delicious here, and I appreciated the addition of a place to order premium coffee and other beverages adjacent to the market.

Decks and Cabins

Disney Cruise Lines is one of the few cruise lines to offer a nursery for the under 3’s. Kids can enjoy games, crafts, and music, and even meet some of their favorite Disney characters. From the Oceaneer Club for kids ages 3 to 12 to the Edge Club for tweens and the Vibe Club for teens, there’s something for everyone.

Disney Wish Entertainment

On 3-day cruises, one night is casual, 4-days are with 2 casual evenings, on 5-days and longer - 3 nights are casual. PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Setting sail in the summer of 2022, the Disney Wish delivers endless fun for the whole family. ABC's Michael Koenigs, his wife Alison Kenworthy, and their son James embarked on a 3-day adventure aboard the 'Disney Wish,' experiencing all the new enchantments the Disney Cruise Line vessel had to offer. Adding to the exciting complement of staterooms and suites onboard Wish is the newly announced Wish Tower Suite.

Disney Wish Onboard Experience

That means you’re never too far from a delicious cocktail or ice-cold beer to combat the heat of the Caribbean. We love seeing celebrities have the time of their lives in Disney World, but they're... Our total itinerary was five nights (four on the ship and one in Florida before embarkation), and with a small stateroom and four people sharing it, I wanted to pack light. We each had a small personal item and carry-on roller bag and did not check luggage. The Disney Wish is the first of three new Disney Cruise Line ships to be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany through 2025. All three ships will be powered by liquefied natural gas and, at approximately 144,000 gross tons, will be slightly larger than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

As such, our reviewers felt that this was the restaurant to skip if you’re on a shorter cruise and need to pick a night to experience Palo Steakhouse or EnchantĂ©. This restaurant offers a dining experience steeped in the golden age of Hollywood. Named after the year the Disney brothers founded their first studio, you’ll enjoy the flavors of California while surrounded by relics reminiscent of the early days of animation. You’ll be seated in either the Walt Disney section or the Roy Disney section, but no matter which you’re assigned to, you’re in for a feast for the eyes and the stomach.

Worlds of Marvel

The new Disney approach allows all kids ages 3-10 to access the same clubs with separate rooms and age-related activities. The accommodations on board the Disney Wish will feature artwork and designs inspired by beloved fairy tales like Cinderella and include ample rooms for guests to store their luggage and relax. The ship has 1,254 staterooms, most of which will offer an ocean view, with the option to connect many rooms for larger groups traveling together. Four royal suites inspired by "Sleeping Beauty" will offer unbeatable space and luxury.

They are listed here generally from least expensive to most expensive, though there may be some price overlap among categories/subcategories. (For a more in-depth look at each of these room types, see the descriptions and photos posted on our Disney Cruise Staterooms article). If you’ve never cruised before — or you’re just curious to see what the dĂ©cor of these rooms is like — check out this general overview from The Vacationeer.

The TRITON-class is very similar (as size and capacity) to the sisterships Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. Still available will be It’s a Small World Nursery for the youngest onboard, as well as Edge (themed to a New York City loft) for tweens and Vibe (inspired by a Parisian artist’s loft) for teens. The Rose - Sip a cocktail surrounded by antique mirrors and floating rose petals at this elegant, adult-exclusive lounge reminiscent of the enchanted castle from Beauty and the Beast. The Walt Disney Theatre - Sit back and get lost in Broadway-style live shows - including Disney's Aladdin - a Musical Spectacular plus 2 all-new, original productions. Some, including me, would say that there is rather too much space devoted to stores on Disney Wish, but if you love Disney merch, and high-end shopping this is going to be paradise for you. Even if you don’t have children make sure that you go and look around at one of the Open Houses that they have every day.

You’ll have a great chance to enjoy sweeping views of the ocean outside the windows while dining here, something that’s mostly missing in the three main restaruants. Our reviewers were somewhat limited in their ability to experience the actual cuisine onboard at these two restaurants during their christening, inaugural, and preview cruises. They did, however, get a chance to tour the facilities and were impressed by the decor and ambiance.

The ship will depart from Port Canaveral, Fla., and although exact itineraries have yet to be announced, sailings will first go on sale on May 27, 2021. Each Disney ship has four captains - the ship's captain, Captain Mickey, Captain Hook and Captain Jack Sparrow. Fairytale Hall - Young royals can craft floating lanterns at Rapunzel's Art Studio, act out their favourite stories in Belle's Library, and even create their own ice magic at Anna & Elsa's Sommerhus. Disney Wish is the newest ship to join the Disney Cruise Line family, having first set sail in Summer 2022. In all my years of experience with Disney Cruises, she is the most controversial ship to date – although I am guessing that Disney Adventure is going to take this crown when she is launched. All of the Disney Wish sailings include a port stop in Nassau and a visit to Disney’s Private Island Castaway Cay.

The liner's interior is designed using three classic Disney themes - fairytale castles (including for the Atrium's Grand Hall), forests and animals, and the spirit of the sea. The 3-deck high Atrium (midship-located, open-floor area) features a grand staircase, the bronze sculpture of Cinderella (at the Lobby level), and a large chandelier with thousands of crystals and a huge "wishing star" at its bottom. The Palo restaurant is an Italian (Mediterranean) eatery with US$20 cover PP (serves dinner and on selected days - Champagne brunch).

I mentioned several times to my husband how much active maintenance was happening on board to keep everything running smoothly, looking amazing, and being perfectly clean. It is the first boat with this layout to also feature an attraction at sea, The Aquamouse water coaster (which was a blast). Coming in December 2024 is the Disney Treasure cruise ship, which will feature longer seven-night itineraries to both the eastern and western Caribbean. AquaMouse - The adventures of Mickey and friends will be brought to life like never before on AquaMouse - the first-ever Disney attraction at sea. From staterooms to food, kids clubs to adult spaces, entertainment, and port stops, you will find it here. Kids of all ages will love the themed spaces and fun programming available on the Disney Wish.

We expect that the appeal of these two locations may be somewhat limited to most travelers, though they’ll certainly be popular for those choosing to have a wedding ceremony onboard the ship. This one-of-a-kind theatrical adaptation of the beloved 1989 Disney animated film was created exclusively for the Disney Wish. With innovative theatrical design, dazzling special effects, and artistic choreography, the all-new script and score goes beyond the film to find new ways to delight. Enjoy pipe slides, ship’s wheels, activities and games, and even an occasional visit from Captains Mickey and Minnie. To access this exclusive space, kids age 3-10 literally slide down from the Grand Hall atrium into the check-in for the day.

There simply is not enough space in and around that fabulous infinity pool in the adult area. Overall, the kids clubs on Disney Wish are top-notch and offer something for every age group. If you are on a 4-night sailing you will have a different Pirate Night menu in the rotational restaurant that you are dining in that evening.

Carnival Valor Itinerary, Current Position, Ship Review

carnival valor cruise

There's no shelving in the shower, so consider bringing a hanging bath caddy if you use a lot of products. Additional features include a makeup mirror, 115-volt outlet and 230-volt European outlet (hidden in the upper corner) and basic toiletries (bars of hand soap and shampoo and body wash via shower dispensers). When families cruise Carnival, even the smallest fish in the pond have a big, awesome time. Okay, so it’s actually way more than just a pond — it’s Camp Ocean. At Camp Ocean, 2–11 year-olds stay busy, keep active and have fun as they enjoy all new ocean-themed activities and entertainment made for kids.

Captain's Suite

Exhilarating entertainment options include special evenings with production shows, comedy acts and more. Built in 2004, the Carnival Valor cruise ship weighs 110K tons and has 1492 staterooms for up to 3581 passengers served by 1150 crew. You can expect a space ratio of 31 gross tons per passenger on this ship.

Interior Upper/Lower (Porthole)

View Carnival's cruise ship staterooms, including suites, balconies, oceanviews and interior staterooms. Plus, Cloud 9 Balconies bring health and wellness to your room. A Captain's Suite aboard Carnival Valor features tons of indoor space, and a huge balcony when you need a little more. Back inside you'll find a king-size bed, two full bathrooms (one with whirlpool tub), plus a separate living room that sleeps another three.

A new Mongolian Grill was added to the Lido restaurant, and Lido Deck received the huge LED screen for outdoor movies and shows.

Every crew member -- from the cabin stewards and guest services receptionists to the bartenders and waiters -- embodied the line's "Fun Ship" culture and made sure everyone was satisfied and having a good time. Interior and balcony cabins are equipped with only one 110-volt and one 220-volt European outlet (not including the ones in the bathroom), and there are no outlets next to the beds. Jogging may not immediately come to mind when you think of things to do at sea, but it probably should. You don’t have to walk on water, you just have to get on a Carnival cruise. After all, if you’re going to jog, you’d be hard-pressed to find a place to do it with a more scenic view, or a more refreshing breeze — both of these are available in abundance when you go for an open-air jog on the upper-deck. Jogging tracks are available on all Carnival ships, and are even padded for long-distance comfort.

Oceanview (OV)

Kids will feel like they are at summer camp with supervised age-specific activities at the specially designed program. Cool places for teens include a video arcade and their own club where they can hang-out, watch movies and listen to music. Additionally, it’s worth noting that not all of these restaurants are open all the time. If you find you’re hungry during one of the select hours where it’s harder to grab a complimentary bite, you may want to spring for some of the extra, for-a-fee dining options. These staterooms offer undesirable windows that can’t quite be called “ocean-view,” but that at least still do ensure your stateroom doesn’t feel so terribly boxy or claustrophobic. If you want the price of an interior stateroom, but a little more natural light, go with one of these options.

Try a fresh-off-the-grill burger Guy’s way, or take it off-road to our toppings bar and truly make it your own. Melt your cares away as you relax in the whirlpools and at the swimming pools. Thrill-seekers will find hair-raising excitement at the four-deck-high, 214-foot-long waterslide. This haven for standup comedians is a great place to introduce your kids to one of the most classic forms of comedy, with kid-friendly shows occurring during the day.

Carnival Valor Cruise Ship: Overview and Things to Do

Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you’re looking to cruise aboard Carnival Valor. Any time you’re in your room, you’re just steps away from your own personal outdoor oasis, featuring the sort of sea view you can also feel. Scenic Oceanview cabins have floor-ceiling slanted windows, 2 twin beds (convertible to king), living area (sofa, coffee table, chairs). Oceanview cabins have a large picture window, twin beds (convertible to queen), living area. Some have a sofa and/or upper beds (Pullman) for 3rd/4th person. Make sure you bring your appetite along, as exciting dining options — many complimentary — are offered on the Carnival Valor.

These options are very similar, but you can, in general, expect large windows, glass doors and mostly unobstructed views from your furnished balcony. As you step into a Junior Suite aboard Carnival Valor, you can't help but feel that you're stepping into full-size luxury in a smaller package. We've got five cruise tips to help you make the most of your Carnival Valor vacation. Ah, imagine a perfect day out on the links, the golfer's zen of the ball, the hole and nothing in between but well-manicured fairway... Whoever it was, they had one thing in mind — maximum fun for mini-golfers, big and small!

Any ocean view stateroom, or better, depending on availability. The boat has 13 passenger decks, of which 8 are with cabins. Over 50% of all staterooms are outside, 60% of those are with balconies. Many of its bars and restaurants were added during a May 2016 refurb -- part of Carnival's $500 million Fun Ship 2.0 investment. The line's much-loved Guy's Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina are now open for lunch, while the BlueIguana Tequila Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar, RedFrog Pub and Alchemy Bar serve even more flowing drinks from morning to night.

The main theater on Carnival Valor offers musical-style performances and larger, tech-savvy shows. However, there are also many smaller entertainment venues that have good shows, concerts and more, too — like the Lindy Hop piano bar (which encourages guests to sing along!), the karaoke bar and more. One of Carnival Cruise Line’s Conquest-class ships, Carnival Valor was launched nearly 20 years ago. However, this ship still provides lots to love even today, from updated amenities and venues to new cruise itineraries.

Then, there’s Club 02, which is for the older teens, ages 15 to 17, with fewer structured, led activities, but still plenty of fun to enjoy alongside their peers. If you imagine a cruise swimming experience as everyone crowding into one top deck pool, think again. Carnival Valor has four swimming pools, which includes the main pool; multiple hot tubs; and a water slide that’s more than 200 feet long. You can get a great ocean view, too, from nearly all of the equipment, as it faces the floor-to-ceiling windows.

We Make Vacation Planning Easy

The Carnival Valor cruise ship cabins page is conveniently interlinked with its deck plans showing deck layouts combined with a legend and review of all onboard venues. BlueIguana Tequila Bar is the onboard spot to chill and enjoy a slushy tequila drink or an ice-cold Mexican cerveza. The menu offers up Mexican favorites, including several brands of tequila and a slew of Mexican brews. There’s a lineup of frozen concoctions, cocktails and margaritas served by the glass or by the pitcher, and even a special Mexican beer cocktail (yes, really). Where can you find this little slice of Mexican paradise?

Get into an island state of mind before you even set foot on one. RedFrog Pub is our laid-back, no-worries, oh-so-lively Key West-inspired pub. Sample Caribbean fare, dominate at the foosball table, enjoy some sweet tunes from live musicians and sip our tasty signature private-label brew, ThirstyFrog Red. So stay cool and take in the bar’s vacation vibe while you kick back on your cruise – that’s what official bar mascot Blue the Iguana would tell you. Guests have told us we hit on something special with the cool Caribbean chill of the RedFrog Pub. We've taken the best parts and brought them poolside with the RedFrog Rum Bar, where the frog keeps the fun hopping day and night with all the island flava you know and love. Join the party at this poolside bar featuring a great selection of frog-approved Caribbean rum-based concoctions available by the glass or pitcher, plus plenty of Carnival’s signature private-label draft beer, ThirstyFrog Red.

Back inside you’ll find a king-size bed, two full bathrooms (one with whirlpool tub), plus a separate living room that sleeps another three. Relaxing spots can be found throughout the ship, with nearly 20 fun bars and lounges to meet-up with friends and enjoy your favorite drink. An immense 14,500-square-foot spa offers several fabulous treatments that will leave you feeling like new and the state-of-the-art fitness center boasts a variety of high-tech equipment. Touch base with those back home and friends at an Internet cafĂ©, catch up with your reading at the library and get some retail therapy at the onboard shops.

Various technical enhancements were also be implemented, including shoreside power capabilities. In 2021, Carnival Valor has scheduled two Transatlantic crossings. Both Transatlantic cruises were planned because of the 17-day drydock refurb at Navantia Shipyard (in Cadiz Spain). Its decor pays tribute to American history in a fun, creative way. On the entertainment front, Playlist Productions™ takes tunes you know and presents them in song-and-dance, up-on-stage spectacular shows. At Dive-In Movies, you’ll never have to choose between making a splash and watching a favorite movie under the stars, up on the big screen.

A Carnival Valor Interior Upper/Lower stateroom creatively maximizes space for a pair of cruisers. These staterooms feature all the same amenities as other Interior staterooms, with a different layout - including one Twin bed, and either an upper Pullman or sofa bed. They also feature linens from the Carnival Comfort Collection, a full private bathroom and more.

Premium Vista Balcony

After dark, the club evolves into an R-rated comedy club to suit cruisers with more adult tastes. One of the many entertainment venues you can experience on a Carnival Valor cruise is the Punchliner Comedy Club. There are pool events as well, so you can have fun in the water even after dark, with movie showings the whole family can enjoy. You don’t have to let your fitness and diet goals fall by the wayside just because you’re at sea. Carnival Valor is outfitted with a 15,000-square-foot gym that has all the fitness equipment you need, including treadmills, stationary bikes, rowing machines, weight machines and stair climbers.

While you shouldn’t expect the all-inclusive resort-like feel that you might get on some of Carnival’s new, larger ships, you can still enjoy tons of activities and plenty of complimentary drinks and dining. It all adds up to a perfectly enjoyable way to spend a few days on the high seas. Ocean Suites also include VIP check-in, walk-in closet and bathroom with whirlpool. Carnival Valor's Porthole staterooms give you the classic seafarer's view times two - a pair of round windows providing an affordable view of the ocean. If you tire of ocean-gazing, there's plenty more to do onboard, but 24-hour room service is one amenity you can enjoy as you continue to take in the view.

Not to even mention some of the best stern-side views you'll find anywhere. Get ready to relax as you gaze upon Carnival Valor's gentle wake from your spacious balcony. Aft-View Extended Balcony staterooms feature a larger balcony for more lounge-around room, more kick-back space… not to even mention some of the best stern-side views you'll find anywhere.

We've put together everything you need to know about the Carnival Valor cruise ship, with an overview, itineraries, and things to do. Learn about Carnival Cruise Lines' handicap accessible cruises and accommodations for guests with special needs or disabilities - including special staterooms, accessible elevators, dietary accommodations and more. The 2004-built Carnival Valor cruise ship is the third of all 5 Conquest-class Carnival vessels - with sisterships Conquest, Freedom, Glory, Liberty. One of Carnival Valor's most appealing attributes is that it doesn't seem to draw one particular type of traveler over another. Friends can let loose, families can bond and couples can play without the ship ever feeling like a spring break party or playground.

The ship uses lots of lights to make each space bright and inviting. Be sure to check out Rosie’s Lido restaurant with its giant Rosie the Riveter mural and the Lincoln Restaurant for its elegant chandeliers. The 3000-passenger ship Carnival Valor and her sisterships are among the biggest in the CCL fleet. They are basically larger versions of earlier Destiny-class ships, as well as more feature-filled. More space reveals into additional decks, with even more bars and lounges, an upscale steak house, and well-proportioned public areas.

carnival valor cruise

Lincoln is positioned in a central spot, but both offer the same menu. At dinner, the vegetarian and low-carb fare is served, as well as Spa Carnival choices. Cuisine often exceeds expectations, especially at Scarlett’s Supper Club and the sushi station. The casual Rosie’s buffet offers a number of food stations with a variety of choices, including a salad bar, deli, dessert station, daily regional cuisines.

That's precisely why you'll find a course on every Carnival ship, where you can hit the holes and take in everything you’d expect, like the sights and the sounds... Multi-course gourmet dinners were designed to thrill foodies, while a host of casual eateries include mouthwatering hand-made burritos and tacos, plus a poolside hamburger joint with handcrafted burgers and fresh-cut fries. Cruise Hive was established back in 2008 and among the earliest blogs in the industry.

The 24-hour room service provides a limited selection of items. As you step into a Junior Suite aboard Carnival Valor, you can’t help but feel that you’re stepping into full-size luxury in a smaller package. Featuring a standard-size balcony, in a Carnival Valor Junior Suite you'll find everything else there is to love about a suite, including VIP check-in, a walk-in closet… and even a whirlpool tub for relaxing. With more space for stretching out indoors, plus a large balcony for kicking back outdoors, try an Ocean Suite to experience private, luxurious relaxation. Ocean Suites also include VIP check-in, walk-in closet and bathroom with whirlpool tub. Balcony staterooms are split between premium, premium vista, aft-view extended and classic balcony staterooms.

On this page are the current deck plans for Carnival Valor showing deck plan layouts, public venues and all the types of cabins including pictures and videos. Across interior staterooms, though, you can expect a Carnival aesthetic that reflects the age of the ship with lots of orange colors. The same is true for the ocean view staterooms, though you do get more floor space and extra sitting space with the ocean view rooms.
